EXS lightweight handlebars have been designed from thousands of bike fittings. An ergonomics first approach has allowed for an optimised grip and hold. And they only weigh 180g!
The data from all these bike fittings has also shown many riders use handlebars which are too wide for them which is why EXS have a range of widths which start at 34cm and go up to 42cm. These narrow bars will also help teenage or female riders who are looking for something narrower.
EXS are breaking with tradition
Instead of using the traditional round tube shape, we use a specially designed asymmetrical oval shape which improves not only the comfort but also the stiffness.
Based on the feedback from many riders, we have redesigned the top, and optimised for grip. No matter whether the cables go in the front of the bar or underneath the bar, it will always be ergonomic.
For every rider, product safety is very important, especially lightweight products.
EXS R150 & R180 comply with the international standard ISO4210, and have passed the international third-party organisation SGS certification. SGS is the world's leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. They are recognised as the global benchmark for quality and integrity.
Impact resistance strength is stronger than 3T, EASTON, ENVE and other conventional product standards(32J).
We offer a two-year warranty and a crash replacement policy.
External or Internal Routing?
The holes for internal routing can destroy the continuity and integrity of the carbon fibre, lowering the strength of the bar. To compensate the loss, more material is needed, therefore increasing the weight.
If the bike is not fully integrated, the cables will be exposed anyway, so we choose the external routing design, to offer a better stiffness to weight ratio and strength.
Both R150&R180 are compatible with Shimano Di2 RS910 bar end controller.
Why choose the short reach bend?
Ergonomics and bike fit are a complicated subject but the handlebar has a shorter reach and no significant drop off at the hood area (on some brands this can be as much as 10 degrees). The benefit of this design is in two areas - you can use a longer stem which can be more aesthetically pleasing and you can reduce the spacers used whilst maintaining the correct stack height. For riders who need a lower stack we recommend using a large angle stem such as -12 or -17 degrees.
We have observed that many riders put their hands on the corners of the handlebar when riding. So we made a targeted design improvement at the corner of the handlebar to optimise comfort. We also take care of the needs of competitive riders. After testing, most riders believe that the drop bar styling optimisation is useful and can improve the grip.
